SmartCap with Decked Bed System

Combining a Smart Cap with a DECKED system offers several benefits that enhance the functionality, organization, and protection of the cargo in a truck bed:

  1. Security and Protection:
    • Weatherproofing: Both Smart Cap and DECKED systems provide weatherproofing capabilities. The Smart Cap protects against external elements like rain, snow, and dust, while DECKED drawers are designed to keep the contents dry and secure from the elements. This dual protection ensures that your gear remains in good condition regardless of the weather outside.
  2. Enhanced Organization:
    • Modular Storage: The DECKED system offers a drawer-based storage solution that allows for easy organization and access to your gear. When combined with a Smart Cap, you get the added benefit of customizable interior components like bins or shelves, which can be easily removed or added depending on your needs. This modular approach to storage maximizes the use of space and keeps items organized.
  3. Increased Accessibility:
    • Drawer Access: The DECKED system’s drawers mean you don’t have to climb into the truck bed to reach your gear. This is particularly advantageous with a Smart Cap installed, as it might otherwise require more effort to access items at the front of the bed due to the cap’s design. The drawers roll out, making everything accessible from the tailgate.
  4. Versatility for Various Activities:
    • Outdoor and Work Use: This combination suits both outdoor enthusiasts and professionals who need a versatile setup for different activities. The Smart Cap can be outfitted with features like side windows for light and ventilation or even a kitchen setup, while the DECKED system provides a stable platform for sleeping or additional storage without needing to remove items from the bed.
  5. Aesthetic and Functional Integration:
    • Design Flexibility: Smart Caps are often chosen for their sleek design and can be customized in color or style to match or enhance the truck’s look. When paired with a DECKED system, you maintain this aesthetic while adding a highly functional storage solution underneath. This integration can also potentially increase the resale value of the truck by adding desirable features.
  6. Payload and Space Utilization:
    • Payload Capacity: The DECKED system, when properly installed, does not significantly reduce payload capacity, allowing you to carry substantial weight on top of the system. The Smart Cap, with its design, can also support additional cargo on the roof through racks, increasing the overall utility of the truck for carrying equipment.
  7. Customization:
    • Tailored Fit: Both systems allow for customization based on user needs. For instance, the DECKED system can be removed if needed for more bed space or depth, while various components of the Smart Cap like side doors or windows can be adjusted or changed to suit different preferences or uses.

By integrating these two systems, truck owners can achieve a highly efficient setup that caters to security, organization, and versatility, making it ideal for anyone from adventurers to contractors needing reliable gear management solutions.

  1. Question: how much clearance is there between the Decked surface and the Smartcap? I’m considering getting both installed but I have a 150qt Pelican cooler that is 24.4” in height and concerned it wouldn’t fit in the bed with both systems installed.
    Thanks!

    1. Sorry just saw this, went to spam for some reason. What is your truck? I can see if I can find out the measurements for you. I’d think you’d have plenty of room, but can verify once we know the truck. Can email me direct at onlinesales@capandhitch.om
